Pecan pie is a pie of pecan nuts mixed with a filling of eggs, butter, and sugar (typically corn syrup). Variations may include white or brown sugar, sugar syrup, molasses, maple syrup, or honey. It is popularly served at holiday meals in the United States and is considered a specialty of Southern U.S. origin. In this recipe we will use vanilla and maple syrup. In addition, if you want a little tip, you may place a foil over the top for the last few minutes of baking to prevent the edges of the crust from becoming over brown. Preheat oven to 350º F.

Add sugar and eggs in a large bowl. Whisk together until well-combined. Add in maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir in pecan halves and pour into unbaked pie crust.

Place in oven and bake 45 minutes. You’ll want to make sure that the center of the pie does not jiggle a great deal when you move the pie pan slightly. If it does, bake for another 5 min and repeat the process.
